Cadenza were part of the Raymond Gubbay Carols by Candlelight concert series in 2009, performing alongside the Mozart Festival Orchestra in The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow and The Usher Hall in Edinburgh on consecutive evenings. Here we present a collection of photographs taken during the Usher Hall concert.

Cadenza were delighted to be invited to take part in a Christmas Concert organised by Historic Scotland in the beautiful setting of Stirling Castle on Sunday 13 December 2009. Cadenza were joined by an excellent accordian player from a local children’s school and costumed story-tellers for a truly magical evening!
The concert took part in the Great Hall, originally completed in 1503 by James IV and recently restored to it’s former glory after being used since 1800 as accomodation for the army. Hopefully these pictures taken before and during the concert show the splendour of the hall and the choir enjoying the surroundings.

This gallery contains photos taken during the break at our latest open rehearsal. Once again the event proved very popular, with the choir ranks swelling to nearly double the number! Much sharing of music, creative use of various items in the rehearsal venue as seating and a good deal of fun ensued – with just the somewhat enviable task of having to find audition times for all of the interested potential Cadenza members left to do!

Cadenza have a great reputation for high quality performances at home, but 2009 saw the choir’s first trip to continental Europe with a long weekend in Amsterdam.
The first concert was in Medemblik, about 60km north of Amsterdam, in the beautiful Bonifaciuskerk. The second concert was in Amsterdam itself, in the cavernous De Vredeskerk. But all work and no play makes Cadenza a dull choir, and we’re certainly not that – so there was plenty time for sight-seeing and socialising as well as singing. A fabulous trip enjoyed by all! We hope you enjoy looking through our photos.
