After 22 highly-successful years at the helm, we have bid farewell to Jenny Sumerling.
Following this year’s Fringe performance, Jenny stepped down after over two decades in post. She has derived great pleasure and joy from exploring the choral repertoire with Cadenza and is most grateful for the support she has received from choir members, Morley Whitehead, Ben Parry, orchestral players and audiences over the years.
Cadenza wishes Jenny all the best for her next adventures, and we look forward to seeing her again at a farewell social event being arranged in her honour in November. We thank her for taking the choir with her on a musical journey and hope that she is proud of her imprint on us, with a talented membership, two successful CDs, impressive radio coverage (like here) and professional YouTube videos particular stand-out achievements of our time together.
We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Timothy Coleman as our new Musical Director. Timothy has already got the choir working hard with rehearsals for our first concert together, Cadenza at Christmas 2022. We are all busy working through plans for this concert and will have more to update in due course, as well as an expanded welcome to Timothy.
We look forward to further progressing under Timothy’s baton!
