Introducing our new Musical Director

We are delighted to introduce and welcome Timothy Coleman as Musical Director of Cadenza. A conductor and tenor originally from Aberdeen, Timothy studied PPE at Oxford University and spent five years as a freelance choral singer and lay-clerk with the Choir of New College, Oxford. Most recently he graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Masters in Vocal Performance.

Timothy Coleman

Previously a Fellow with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and a Young Conducting Scholar with Sing for Pleasure. As well as conductor of Cadenza, he is currently the conductor with the Colinton and Merchiston Community Choir, and assistant conductor with the Dalkeith Serenata Singers. He has previously conducted the Athenaeum Singers, Risca Choral Society and the Taffs Well Community Choir, amongst others.

Timothy is also active as a singer, currently as a lay clerk with the Choir of St Mary’s Cathedral. We look forward to what the future holds for us as he has hit the ground running, and we are now well into rehearsing for our upcoming Christmas concert.
